Yunnan (Qujing) Seven Colors agricultural science and technologies Company Ltd. is a new founded joint venture company which aims at helping the farmers and agribusiness companies in Yunnan China to increase crops yields and to promote the sustainable development in Agriculture. The company is looking for 5 agronomic specialists to work at the crop protection department, which is responsible for developing and implementing on-farm good agricultural practices. The successful candidates will work in close collaboration with field advisors and farmers in Yunnan after 5 months of training in Canada.

Title: SPECIALIST IN ENTOMOLOGY

Number of positions: 1

Responsibilities

The entomologist will be in charge of:

-  the sampling procedures, rearing and identification of arthropods.

-  the development of the training and identification of the material that will be used by the field advisors and the growers to reduce loss caused by arthropod pests.

-  organizing and delivering the training of field advisers and scouts.

-  the development and implementation of on-farm trials to improve efficacy of pest control.

-  the development and implementation of integrated pest management (IPM) strategies to reduce or to avoid the use of pesticides.

Requirements

-           Bachelor degree or above, in entomology or other related field in agronomy and crop protection.

-           Familiar with IPM concepts.

-           Interest in insect rearing, ecology and the use of biological control.

-           Familiar with the common experimental designs in agriculture to evaluate efficiency of pest control.

-           Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment.

-           Good knowledge and experience of crops and farming operations is an advantage.

-           Competent in English, both oral and written.

-           Good computer skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.

-           Interest in working in the field.

岗位职责：

1. 制定昆虫取样流程，人工饲养和识别昆虫；
2. 为了降低由虫害造成的经济损失，开发针对农业技术员和农民的培训课程及收集管理相关信息资料；
3. 对农业技术员和监测员进行技术培训；
4. 开发和实现现场实验，以提高对虫害的防治效率；
5. 开发和实现病虫害整合管理（IPM）策略，以降低甚至避免农药的使用。

岗位要求：

1. 大学本科或以上学历，昆虫学或农学、植保相关专业；
2. 对病虫害整合管理（IPM）有一定了解；
3. 对昆虫人工饲养、生态学和生物防治方面有浓厚兴趣；
4. 对用于评估病虫害 防治效率的一般实验设计有一定了解；
5. 具有良好的人际沟通技巧，和团队合作精神；
6. 精通农作物和种植，并有此方面工作经验者优先考虑

Title: SPECIALIST IN MICROBIOLOGY or SPICIALIST IN PLANT PATHOLOGY

Number of positions: 2

Responsibilities

The microbiologists or plant pathologists will be in charge of:

-  the sampling procedures, rearing and identification of microbes (fungus, bacteria, viruses, etc).

-  the development of the training and identification of the material that will be used by the field advisors and the growers to reduce loss caused by crop diseases.

-  organizing and delivering the training of field advisers and scouts.

-  the development and implementation of on-farm trials to improve efficacy of control of crop diseases.

-  the development and implementation of integrated pests management (IPM) strategies to reduce or to avoid the use of pesticides.

Requirements

-           Bachelor or degree or above, in microbiology, plant pathology or other related field in agronomy and crop protection.

-           Familiar with IPM concepts.

-           Interest in disease identification and ecology, in epidemiology  and in the use of biological control.

-           Familiar with common experimental designs in agriculture to evaluate efficiency of pest control.

-           Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment.

-           Good knowledge and experience of crops and farming operations is an advantage.

-           Competent in English, both oral and written.

-           Good computer skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.

Responsibilities

The plant physiologist will be in charge of:

-  the sampling procedures and preservation of plants or part of plants for mineral deficiencies or physiological disorders identification.

-  the development of the training and identification of the material that will be used by the field advisors and the growers to reduce loss caused by crop physiological disorders.

-  organizing and delivering the training of field advisers and scouts.

-  the development and implementation of on-farm trials to improve efficacy of control of physiological disorders.

-  the development and implementation of integrated pests management (IPM) strategies through the improvement of plants physiological status

Requirements

-           Bachelor degree or above, in plant physiology or other related fields in agronomy and crop protection.

-           Familiar with IPM concepts.

-           Interests in the relation among plant physiological status and pest control and crop development.

-           Familiar with common experimental designs in agriculture to evaluate efficiency of pest control and plant development.

-           Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment.

-           Good knowledge and experience of crops and farming operations is an advantage.

3. 对农业技术员和监测员进行培训；
4. 开发和实现现场实验，以提高对作物营养失调的防治效率；
5. 通过提高植物生理条件，开发和实现病虫害整合管理（IPM）策略。
