JOB PROFILE

Job Title: Senior Metallurgist
Job Location:
Report to: Lab Supervisor
Division of Nalco: Global Analytics
Department: Customer Analytical Lab-China
Principal function/Duties specific to the position:
Nalco has an opening for a Senior Metallurgist in our Research and Development Group located in
The Senior Metallurgist will primarily be responsible for failure analysis and consulting.
The individual will participate in an intensive two year hands-on training program. When training is complete, the candidate will be considered an expert in failure analysis for the utility, paper, process chemical, steel, refinery, food, and other related industries.
The position requires excellent writing skills. Results of the failure analyses performed will be documented with clearly written reports. Occasionally analyses and interpretations will be presented to customers.
Education/Training experience:
The minimum qualifications the candidate will have include:
A degree in Metallurgical Engineering or Materials Science. (PH.D. or Master Degree with working experience)
Excellent communication and problem solving skills.
The following experience would be beneficial:
An understanding of the microstructure of steel.
A practical understanding of corrosion.
