Post Specifications
IT technician is an integrated member of IT Office team and is responsible for the
internal support to teachers, students and other staff in school. Which include --
1. Prepare PCs，telephones and printers for new staffs;
2. Maintain PCs, telephones and printers for staffs;
3. Setup and maintain the PCs in the students’ computer labs;
4. Software and hardware installation, configuration and test;
5. PC re-imaging by using Ghost;
6. Basic software and hardware troubleshooting;
7. Showing the basic and correct operation skills to ordinary users.
8. Virus updates audit and/or OS patches installation.
9. Toner/Cartridge ordering;
10. Maintain teaching equipments for teaching staffs;
11. Supporting and serving the big events;
12. Compile the user documentation and staff training;
13. Manage and resolve problems assigned by help desk or operations
14. Any other concerning IT works
Personal Requirements
1) College graduate, majoring in Computer Science or relevant subjects;
2) At least one-year working experience in IT support, networking or concerning area;
3) Proficiency/experience in working on Ghost, Windows system administration and troubleshooting.
4) Good knowledge on software and hardware troubleshooting, familiar with most popular network equipment
5) PBX configuration is a plus;
6) Work experience with Antivirus systems & Desktop remote control tools;
7) Hardware: Strong background in supporting Laptops, PCs & Printers;
8) Awareness of LAN infrastructure
Switches & Cabling connection
9) Experiences with cabling, telephone system, VoIP, audio/video conferencing as a plus;
10) Good English skill and no communication obstacle;
11) Team-working, transparency spirit, patience and interest in learning new technologies.
12) Willingness to learn in an international university environment

Salary Range: 4,500 – 8,600 RMB/Month Gross

• The main purpose of the job
Provision of laboratory support and expertise, particularly with data collection and instrumentation in the area of:
• Manufacture and testing of concrete specimens,
• Manufacture and testing of bitumen specimens,
• Support of data collection instrumentation,
Provision of some computer support and expertise:
• Data acquisition,
• Data processing,
• Structural computer modelling.
Assistance with the preparation of new research funding applications.
Assistance where appropriate with the preparation of research publications.
1. Prime objectives:
Assist in the design, maintenance and development of instrumentation and equipment within teaching and research laboratories.
2. Supervisor responsibility:
Responsibility for training and supervising Undergraduates, Postdoctoral Research staff and PhD students in the use of equipment and control systems.
3. Range of decision making:
Development of an understanding of the equipment used in laboratories giving a decision-making capability with regard to its maintenance. Some decisions with regard to the development of new equipment within the laboratories are also expected.
4. Responsibility for assets:
Responsible for upkeep and proper usage of equipment.
5. Range of duties:
Development of new teaching and research laboratories. Maintenance of equipment. Design of new equipment. Supervising students in the use of equipment, data acquisition and data analysis.
6. Training
Training will be provided in techniques as appropriate. Where appropriate training visits to other laboratories will be arranged. There may be the possibility for further study within the framework of designing and building novel, new pieces of equipment.
7. Qualifications
Masters Qualifications in Civil Engineering or related field.
Ability to communicate in English and Chinese (The interview will be held in English and Chinese, there will also be an English test)
