Caterpillar R & D Center (China) Co., Ltd.

Caterpillar R&D Center (China) Co., Ltd. (CRDC) was established in 2005 and has branches in Qingdao, Wuxi, Tianjin, and Beijing. CRDC is an engineering service center with a mission to provide research & development and intellectual property (IP) management services to support the implementation and execution of Caterpillar's emerging market strategies in China and realize Caterpillar's Vision 2020. It supports our supply base and our manufacturing facilities in the region, allows us to be closer to our customers, to take advantage of regional engineering talent, and to develop market-leading products that exceed our Asia-Pacific customers' expectations.

Caterpillar R&D Center Wuxi Branch

As the main branch of CRDC, the Wuxi R&D Center will focus on product and process development, validation, localization and technological training in addition to shared services such as IP management, HR functions, IT support, etc. The center will be built in multiple phases with the first phase to be completed at the end of 2009. Among its many functions, the Phase I new center will have an engine test facility, an advanced materials laboratory, an electronics laboratory, a system and machine integration facility, and validation capability.

Caterpillar R&D Center Qingdao Branch

Qingdao R&D Center, a branch of CRDC in Qingdao, was established in 2005. CRDC Qingdao primarily focuses on supporting the product development and manufacturing in SEM. Engineers in this center work in different products and system groups to support product and system development in China.
