Missions and Responsibilities of Thermal Spray Engineer
The Thermal Spray Engineer reports directly to the Repair Development Engineering Section Manager and follows his (or her) directives in compliance with SSAMC internal repair development needs and quality rules.
Main missions and Responsibilities
The main duty of the thermal spray engineer is to develop the thermal spray procedures for the engine parts according to the OEM maintenance instructions and associated thermal spray specifics.
Responsibilities include:
Execute the design, analysis or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product/program requirements.
Establish project schedules, milestones and deliverables.
Provide technical leadership to personnel supporting the assigned project.
Activities
To develop the thermal spray technical instructions for the engine parts which need thermal spray repairs, ether for dimension restoration or for engine performance restoration.
To set-up the equipment operational instructions. To assist the thermal spray operators, the equipment maintenance personnel on operating parameter adjustments and equipment trouble-shootings.
To analyze the thermal spray samples and dummy parts cut-ups, ensure the thermal spray qualities meet the OEM maintenance requirements, the material / processes specifications and the quality acceptance procedure.
To report to the repair development engineering section manager any happening or question that might affect the quality of the product or the repair developing schedule of the specific part.
Qualification requirement:
Education: Bachelor degree or higher in metallurgy or turbomachinery related engineering
Experience: 5 years significant experience in thermal spray and /or metallurgic lab, welding works
Others: sound project management experience. Highly motivated to direct work effort and be able to drive team work; ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a broad range of engineering disciplines
English: be fluent at both written and oral communication
