The Role
We are seeking talented, highly-motivated individuals to join our solar analysis team. Specifically, we seek an Analyst with a background in one or more of the following: natural sciences, engineering, economics, or finance, to cover the Chinese solar market.
The Analyst will have the following responsibilities:
· Recruiting participants and collecting data for an in-house Silicon and Wafer Forward Price Index
· Collecting data for regular surveys of the solar market and helping with the analysis
· Following in detail Chinese solar policy and bidding processes, through a series of Analyst Reaction reports. Keeping the team's 'analyst expectation forecast' for China up to date and explaining it to clients.
· Writing the solar part of the China Market Outlook
· A watching brief on Chinese manufacturing, keeping the Chinese factory data up-to-date and maintaining production forecasts
Findings must be communicated in a clear and insightful manner, through research notes, reports and presentations. Client contact is essential.
Requirements
· Post-graduate level degree preferred in a numerate or science based subject
· Experience as an intern or analyst within an energy, consulting or financial organisation.
· Ability to assimilate and assess new and highly technical information.
· Exceptional quantitative skills, comfort with financial databases, corporate and market statistics among other aspects of financial analysis and consulting.
· Ability to cut through the noise of infinite data, extract and analyse key patterns.
· Exceptional communication skills and professionalism, as required to deliver services to FTSE-250 and Fortune 500 organisations.
· Ability to act as a thought-leader and self-starter, with a high work rate, multi-tasking ability and rigorous attention to detail.
· A good working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
· Proficiency in English and Mandarin, both written and spoken
