APCO Worldwide is an exciting and growing international public affairs consultancy with a strong presence in Greater China. APCO’s work in China focuses on providing government relations, investment and strategic communications advice to clients operating in the Chinese market.
APCO is seeking to recruit a Chinese intern in Beijing. APCO’s internship program seeks to provide Chinese students with valuable and substantive work experience and strives to involve interns in all aspects of the company. APCO’s interns become integral team members on a wide range of accounts, providing critical support while learning more about the industry as a whole. An intern is also encouraged to attend practice group and other staff meetings, as well as to get involved in the company’s social events. Internships normally last for three to six months.
Summary: An intern is responsible for supporting assigned staff on all projects. Specific responsibilities may include internet-based research, and other support as dictated by project managers. Interns report directly to assigned project staff and the Intern Coordinator.
Responsibilities: The following are specific duties assigned to interns and are performed on a daily basis.
Assist project staff with tasks including but not limited to:
- Conduct industry and/or client research
- Assist Project staff with tasks including but not limited to:
- Mailings
- Database development
- Event coordination
- Draft client materials
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Basic knowledge and skills needed to successfully perform the duties and responsibilities of an APCO intern include:
- Master’s degree in progress; some relevant professional or intern experience
- Full time internship for 3 or 6 months
- Strong interest in business
- Chinese native speaker with excellent Language skills of both Chinese and English
- Professional demeanor
- Ability to organize and multi–task project requests
- Ability to work well with others in a team environment, as well as to work independently;
- Self-motivated
