Gatan, Inc. (ww***com[点击查看]), based in USA, is the world’s leading manufacture
r of instrumentation and software used to enhance and extend the operation and
performance of electron microscopes. The Gatan brand name is recognized and w
ell respected throughout the worldwide scientific community and has been synon
ymous with high quality products and industry’s leading technology. Our custo
mer base spans the complete spectrum of end users of analytical instrumentatio
n typically found in industrial, governmental and academic laboratories.
Gatan is now looking for field service and technical support engineers in Chin
a. The engineers are responsible for installation, repair or services of Gata
n products at the customer site. The responsibilities also include customer t
raining, telephone support, hardware and software configuration, troubleshooti
ng, and maintenance support for Gatan products. The engineer must insure servi
ced systems meet operating specifications, documenting service performed, and
scheduling.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- On-site customer installation, service support, telephone support, hardware
and software configuration, troubleshooting, and maintenance. Insure repaired
systems meet operating specifications.
- Operator training at customer site
- Require traveling on the average of 70% of the time, International travel re
quired.
- Document work performed in a service report. Complete billing or warranty d
ocumentation as needed.
Skills and Qualification
- College degree, majored in electric related fields, such as automatic contro
l engineer
- Able to read and interpret schematics and electrical diagrams through to the
component level. Isolate the system fault at the component level for electro
nic, vacuum, and mechanical systems and repair.
- Prior experience in servicing electron microscopes or other analytical instr
uments a plus but not required.
- Working experience in TEM (Transmission Electron Microscope) or SEM (Scannin
g electron microscope) is a plus, but not required.
- Good analytical and solution oriented thinking
- Good English language skills (oral and written)
- Experience with current Personal Computer Windows Operation System (OS) soft
ware installation and configuration.
- Teach highly technical information is essential.
- Good communication and organizational skills.
- Must be a self-starter, able to work with minimal supervision in an isolated
environment.
The position will be located in Shanghai or Beijing

- 有从事透射或扫描电子显微镜工作经验是一个优势,但并不是必须的;
- 独立分析和解决问题的能力;
- 英语能力强(口语,阅读和书写);
- 熟悉现有的计算机操作系统(windows Xp),以及软件安装设置;
- 能面对不同的客户,培训技术信息;
- 一个自我启动的人:能在独立工作的环境和最少的监督指导下工作。
- 有很强的上进心和好奇心。不断学习新技能和新本领。
