[香港]Early Recruitment of Graduate Students to HKU CS

Introduction:

The early recruitment scheme for graduate studies at The Department
of Computer Science at HKU (HKU CS) now invites applications from
top-ranked students at a number of selected premier universities in
mainland China.

The University of Hong Kong was founded in 1912. It is a top
English-speaking university with strong dedication to teaching and
research excellence. The faculty members of HKU CS include many
internationally renowned scholars in the diverse fields of Computer
Science, such as Algorithms, Bioinformatics, Computer Forensic,
Computer Vision and Graphics, Database and Data Mining, Network,
Systems, and Software Engineering. The department's web page is at

Details:

1. Your application should include a CV in English, and other
supporting documents (such as transcripts, class ranking, proof of
English proficiency, and other documents of academic or research
achievements, all preferably in English). The official TOEFL or
IELTS score is not needed at this stage. Please indicate in your
application three research areas of interest in a prioritized order.

2. Short-listed applicants will be interviewed by mid Sept, 2010, or
as soon as possible thereafter. Offers will be made to successful
applicants soon after the interviews. The expected date of admission
to HKU is September 2011.

3. Selection criteria mainly include academic records, research
ability and experience, and English proficiency.

4. All successful applicants will be provided with a studentship of
about HK$160,000 annually during the period of study (4 years for
Ph.D. study and 2 years for M.Phil. study). In addition, outstanding
applicants for Ph.D. study will be considered for HKU Ph.D.
Scholarship. Outstanding candidates may also apply for the Hong Kong
Postgraduate Fellowship

a financial support of HK$240,000 per year for Ph.D. study.
