Specific Responsibilities
• Support product development for fluorine product growth in Asia Pacific region.
• Evaluate properties of the foam relating to blowing agent used in polyurethane which has a critical effect on these attributes.
• Study the effects of changing blowing agents for polyurethane foam. Develop new polyols, isocyanates, catalyst and surfactants to overcome the possible problems occurred when blowing agent is changed.
• Support commercial team for product promotion, including new products promotions.
• Align with global technology and business strategies for growth.
Position Scope
• Polyurethane foam formulation development and related process and application development based on specialty materials market needs and Honeywell strategy.

Educational & Other Requirements
Master and above in polymer science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or closely related field. 3 years plus relevant industry experience in blowing agent, polyols, polyurethane systems, polyisocyanurate rigid foam is prefered.
 This role requires expert knowledge of technology in these fields: polyurethane foam formulating, characterization, and structure-property relationship, etc.
 Must have hands-on lab experience developing and testing products/processes and working with technicians to produce sample batches prior to trial runs in production
 Must be driven to continue professional development and achieve objectives on a demanding schedule.
 Demonstrated excellent problem solving and data-based decision making skills.
 Demonstrated ability to work effectively within your team as well as external customers.
 Good communication skills. Fluent in Chinese and familiar with Chinese culture and business.

Specific Responsibilities

·         Design and execute experimental plan on formulation preparation and perform daily equipment operation for wafer processing, film characterization, testing data collection and analysis.

·         Provide valuable input on how to improve the materials property by recipe tuning as well as adjusting process condition.

·         Provide on-site technical support at customer site in optimizing process windows and resolving any application related technical issues.

·         Keep key tools in good working condition.

·         Document all the processing steps and performance data in lab book and technical reports.

Own tool’s SOP, logbook and maintenance.

Position Scope

Formulating new materials, daily tool operation, wafer processing, materials and film testing. Work closely with materials and application development team for successful execution of new projects.

Reporting Relationship

This position will report to the Technology Manager for Honeywell Electronic Materials in Asia.

Educational & Other Requirements

§  Advanced degree in chemistry, major in polymer chemistry or organic chemistry or materials science or electronic materials.

§  Working experience in PV, IC, display industry, front end wafer processing fab, is preferred.

§  Excellent teamwork skills.

§  Fluent in Chinese and familiar with Chinese culture and business.

Good written and oral English communication skills.

1.       Professional Skills:
a. Operation expertise in analytical instruments with focus on HPLC, LC-MS, GC, GC/MS, UV-VIS and other analytical instruments.
b. Good understanding of application fields for chromatography such as Pharm. R&D, Food safety analysis, Environmental analysis, Biotechnology etc.

2.       Experience Skills:
a. Experience in working with analytical lab in Pharmaceutical, Biotech, Chemistry, Environmental, Research or Independent Test Organization.
b. Solid experience of using HPLC, LC-MS, GC, GC/MS, UV-VIS and other analytical instruments.
c. Knowledge in or experience with pharmaceutical R&D, DNA/RNA and peptide synthesis and purification as a plus.

Description:

• Provide support for the lab R&D projects relevant to catalysts testing and development.
• Perform actual laboratory experiments, catalyst synthesis, testing, characterization, data collection and analysis, write technical reports.
• Manage and maintain lab equipments, raw chemicals, safety and environmental issues.
• Work closely with global team on meeting the planned objectives.

Qualifications:

• Major in Materials Science, Chemistry, or closely related fields.
• Master or Ph.D., 1-3 years of laboratory working experience in catalyst materials development and testing is a plus.

Responsibilities

Requirements
· Doctoral Degree in Polymer Chemistry, Polymer Science and Engineering, Material Science and Engineering, Chemical Engineering or Chemistry.
· Experience with polymer synthesis.
· Previous working experience in emulsion or suspension polymerization would be desirable.
· Experience with fluoropolymer synthesis, polymer membrane and coatings preparation technology etc is plus.
· A broad knowledge of polymer material application is preferred.
