Job Descriptions
You are responsible for providing care to patients in the clinics with acute
and / or chronic illnesses. You will be involved in the wellness screening,
such as child developmental assessment, antenatal checkup and you will also
need to assist in case presentation during Continuing Medical Education
(CME) Talks/ Tutorials. In addition, you will be required to carry out any
other duties/projects as assigned by Head of polyclinic, Director of
Clinical Services and Deputy CEO / CEO.

About the National Healthcare Group Polyclinics (Singapore)
NHG Polyclinics - the primary care arm of the National Healthcare Group,
looks after the primary care needs of Singaporeans who attend our
polyclinics. We have 9 polyclinics under our group, spread across the
Western and Northern regions of Singapore. Each polyclinic sees the entire
spectrum of patients requiring ambulatory, outpatient care, and we manage
around 700 - 1200 patients per day.
Our primary focus in the polyclinic is managing chronic diseases like
hypertension and diabetes among our patients. We also actively screen for
their complications with annual diabetic retinal photography and foot
screening, all which can be done in-house. Besides chronic diseases, we also
provide the full range of medical services, for example, acute
consultations, emergency treatment, well-women and well-child visits.
Another facet of our polyclinics is our commitment to teaching, training and
research. We play a very active role in teaching both medical and nursing
students during their undergraduate years. Our teaching commitment extends
to doctors doing their post-graduate qualifications in Family Medicine (MMed
and GDFM)
Doctors interested in specializing in primary care will also be posted to
the polyclinics for their training periods. Our polyclinics also have set up
a Clinical Research Unit to cater to this area in the healthcare market.
Each polyclinic is a 1-stop primary care facility, geared to meet out
patients' needs. We have in-house X-Ray, lab and pharmacy services, together
with the entire range of nursing services like counselling, immunization,
developmental assessment and emergency treatment. Each clinic is staffed by
around 10 - 18 doctors, 20 - 40 nurses, 20 - 30 ancillary staff, 10
diagnostics and 10 - 20 pharmacy staff. The workload varies between clinics,
but we see an average of 50 -60 patients per day per doctor.
