Assistant Engineer (Water 水利水务专业)

 

招聘人数— 1-2人

Job Description

There is an assistant engineer opening at Water & Environment Department of Shanghai Office. The candidate is expected to be a final year student of an engineering discipline, and will start as an intern under supervision of a Senior Engineer to work on a variety of challenging and exciting projects for high profile clients. 

Examples of Key Duties: (Duties are illustrative and not inclusive and may vary with individual assignment.)

·         Provides assistance to senior engineers, including engineering designs in compliance with codes and regulations, professional field and office works related to planning, hydrological and hydraulic analysis and daily departmental operations;

·         Manages less complex engineering works;

·         Prepares specifications and reports, to be reviewed by a Senior Engineer; 

·         Participates in project meetings and prepare meeting minutes;

·         Maintains project records and files;

·         Performs other duties of a similar nature or level;

·         Travels in Mainland China and Hong Kong for project needs.

 

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

A final year student of a bachelor or master degree with major coursework in a hydraulic engineering related curriculum; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job as listed above.

Knowledge of: (at entry)

·         Basic water engineering theories and principles;

·         Experience and a strong interest in hydraulics/urban drainage/sewerage/water supply engineering;

·         Computer applications related to the work including basic GIS and AutoCAD concepts and applications;

·         Practices of researching engineering and design issues, evaluating alternatives, making sound recommendations and preparing and presenting effective staff reports; and

Skill in: (at entry)

• Engineering design and analysis;
• Writing technical reports and technical specifications;
• Communicating effectively;
• Self motivated and can work on their own or as part of a team;

·         A good command of written and spoken English, with a CET 6 Certificate;

·         Good skills of Microsoft Office tools;

·         Any knowledge and experience of hydraulic modelling tools, such as MIKE, HEC-RAS, INFOWORKS, EPANET and SWMM would be an advantage.
