Total Petrochemicals China is now looking for motivated candidates for the following position:

Position : Technical Interpreter and Translator (part time)

Location:  Beijing

 

Objectives/Key Responsibilities:

 

·           Ensure accurate interpreting during technical meetings, typically with Chinese counterparts, engineering groups, authorities and suppliers representatives.

·           Ensure accurate interpreting during negotiations with Chinese counterparts.

·           Assist Project Technical Team members for the general communication with their Chinese counterparts.

·           Translate and edit technical documentation from English to Chinese or Chinese to English, such as engineering documents, diagrams, drawings annotations, brochures, reports, guidelines, standards, PowerPoint presentations… and in case of third party translation, verify, validate or amend, edit.

·           When required, manage subcontracted translation orders, including proofreading and editing translated documents.

·           Search for technical information on a given subject in Chinese language and prepare summary in English.

·           And contribute to any other activity of the Project Technical Team members requiring interpreter or translator skills.

 

Profile Requirement:

 

·           Interpreter studies and qualification.

·           Native Chinese, fluent in English, French as a plus.

·           Good communication between multilingual partners through interpreting and written translation.

·           Excellent intercultural, interpersonal and communication skills.

·           Computer: Word, PowerPoint…
