BNU – HKBU UNITED INTERNATIONAL COLLEGE IN ZHUHAI
United International College (UIC), located in Zhuhai and founded jointly by Beijing Normal University and Hong Kong Baptist University, is the first full-scale collaboration between academic institutions from both mainland China and Hong Kong.Based on holistic development approach, UIC aims to produce graduates with an international perspective, who are fluent in both English and Chinese, and who have knowledge and experience of China, Hong Kong and the world at large.
UIC started operation in October 2005 and offered undergraduate courses in three academic divisions: Business & Management, Humanities & Social Sciences, and Science & Technology. The College offers subjects in liberal studies for all students and the medium of instruction is English. Wenow invite applications for the following position which is expected to be filled in February 2011.
Job Title: Teaching Assistant
To work closely with experienced lectures and professors to maximize teaching effectiveness:
-Drafting PowerPoint presentations from the professor's notes or a textbook
-Planning small group tutorials with the professor
-Leading small group tutorials
-Reviewing/Commenting on student home work and projects
-And marking quizzes and tests, recording student marks in the professor's grade book, holding office hours to meet individually to answer questions and other professional duties as assigned
Candidates should have a Master degree in the following majors:
Public Relations and Advertising, (Marketing) Communication, Social Work, Statistics, Mathematics, Psychology or Food Science and Technology.
Experience as a teaching assistant/tutor and some professional work experience in related field are highly preferable. Overseas study experience is highly desirable. Excellent skills in English reading, speaking and writing.
