The Program

The Global Industrial Operations (GIO) of GSK Biologicals has set up a 2 years international programme starting on the 1st of September 2009, with the objective to recruit young talented individuals with engineering/scientific background and the leadership potential to global manufacturing careers within GSK Biologicals.

The selected individuals will have four 6-month placements in different departments and sites during the 2 years programme. The programme will include one mandatory module within the Global Supply Chain department in Belgium to support demand management and build understanding of the relationship between the supply chain and the customer requirements.
The graduates will normally spend 12 months abroad and 12 months in the country, with an ambition for them to come back to a responsible position in the home site at the end of the successful completion of the programme.

They will be provided with a development programme in line with our Leadership Framework, including one week training period in Belgium at the end of each placement, and support from a career mentor who will be offering guidance on career and personal development issues over the duration of the 2 years program and beyond.

After 2 years grogram, they are required to work for a JV vaccine manufactory outside of Shanghai in China. We seek candidates who can make outstanding long-term contributions to our organization.

The Profile

For this role, you will need a university degree in (Bio-)Engineering, Sciences or Life Sciences. A post-graduate degree is a plus. Fluency in English, both written and oral, is a must, as is the willingness to be mobile in China and work internationally where required. We will consider applications from candidates with up to 2 years manufacturing experience.

In order to attract the best people, candidates will go through a thorough selection process including structured interviews and a group exercise.
To be part of the programme, the hired graduate will have to agree to live abroad for a 12 months period but need to be aware that the Short term assignment policy will not provide any financial support to partners/families.
