IBM STG Lab Shanghai is now urgently looking for IBM Systems Director Monarch Simulator software engineer.

Job description
IBM Systems Director is the most important System Management product in STG. The CSTL System Management Development organization is taking ownership on five key components of IBM Systems Director in 2011. We are looking for development software engineers to join in the development work of Monarch Simulator.

Monarch Simulator is a simulation tool designed to facilitate Director development and testing. According to current IT product developing model, simulation performs a more and more important role to support hardware and software parallel development. The job is to participate in developing the only simulator that supports the whole world wide dev/testing team of IBM Systems Director. It is supposed to simulate all the systems and devices of IBM products. This job involves the high-level design, low-level design, implementation and testing, understanding requirement from different domains and support different systems/hardware servers. This role also needs to establish a good relationship with US senior lead, to understand the STG hardware roadmap for every product family that IBM Systems Director supports.

This is a brand new project totally owned by CSTL, all the members will have a good opportunity to learn about IBM systems as well as IBM culture.

Required Skills
- Expert in Java programming, familiar with eclipse and Java plugin development (required)
- Good understanding of network protocols and programming
- Familiar with software development and software development process.
- Multi-platform knowledge, e.g. Windows, Linux, UNIX-like systems
- Excellent team player
- Good command of English, on reading, speaking and writing.
- Excellent communication consultancy skills. An independent, assertive, self-motivated, creative, dynamic, and flexible approach is required, whilst offering and open to new ideas.
- Degree: MS or BS degree, major in CS, EE or equivalent
- Script programming is a plus
- IBM System x, BladeCenter and Power System knowledge is a plus
- Familiar with virtualization software like KVM, VMWare is a plus
- Knowledge/experience on IBM systems and software products is a plus.
