Engineer Sr, SW (Test Automation Developer)
SUMMARY/SCOPE OF POSITION:
Responsible for developing and maintaining software tools used for GUI software automated testing.
Requires enhancing and maintaining a set of tools to provide user interface, framework and automated test functionality for testing an industrial control product software application. Participate in analysis, design, development and test of applications. Interface with software developers and software testers. May function as a technical lead of a small team.
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS / WORK EXPERIENCE
Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent, required.
Prior software development experience with C#/.NET, C , Python and Java
Prior experienced with communications protocols between MS and Linux.
Prior experience using Reflection
Prior experience with Rational ClearCase and ClearQuest
Prior experience in all aspects of software testing is highly desirable.
Prior experience in test automation is highly desirable.
Prior experience in Industrial Control Industry is highly desirable.
Proven ability to work effectively as a team member. Significant experience with all aspects of the software life cycle. Record of completing projects at a high rate of productivity required.
Experience in the development or test of Windows based software products highly desired.
Experience as a technical development lead on one or more projects
Engr Assoc, Software Test
SUMMARY/SCOPE OF POSITION:
Participates in test development and test execution and works closely with Test lead, Development and Program Management teams to ensure the feature/product is compliant to design specifications and that test results are generated and reported.
Writes and executes test plans and cases, problem isolation and analysis, prioritizes and reports defects.
Documents and submits reproducible product defects using a defect tracking system
Reviews product requirements, software specifications, test plans and user documentation
Designs and develops of test automation projects.
May have internal/external customer contact, primarily to give and/or receive problem solving information and must be able to respond with urgency to customer needs
Must have increasingly in-depth knowledge of products and services within primary focus area and must be able to follow standard company product development processes.
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS / WORK EXPERIENCE
Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field
No experience required; prefer related co-op or internship experience.
Working knowledge of software test methodologies required
Must exhibit good interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
Must be self-motivated, capable of performing and making good engineering decisions in a fast-paced,
ever-changing environment.
Must be able to handle multiple assignments while meeting planned completion dates with minimal
supervision
Ability to work both independently and collectively in a team environment
Experience programming in Visual Studio (Visual Basic and/or Visual C )
Familiarity with process control, industrial information and automation systems and industrial
automation software products is beneficial
Experience with test automation tools or the development of custom test automation applications.
