Summer Intern (暑期实习生) (5 headcount)

 

1. Mechanical Design / Optimization (3名)

 

Job Description:

In this intern work, you will have opportunities to understand the functions of large components of Siemens Heavy Duty Gas Turbine product families, and collaborate with colleagues in design and engineering team based on China to assist in multi-objective design optimization project.

 

Requirements:

- Master degree or above in Engineering Mechanics, Mechanical Engineering.

- Strong mechanics background.

- Basic knowledge in Turbo machinery/ Turbo Machine Design

- Chinese and English language skills are essential. Fluent English in reading and writing.

- Internship will be 3-month period

- Graduate in 2012

- Expected on-board: July, 1, 2011

 

2. System & Piping Drafting (2名)

 

Mission:

  • Design and maintain reference and project specific auxiliary systems Process and Instrumentation Diagram (P&ID) (e.g. fuel gas, syngas, ignition gas, fuel oil, NOx water, purge water, lube oil, hydraulics, pneumatic, flame monitoring and ignition systems), components (filter, strainer, valves) and instrumentation layout for large gas turbine application. Modify or develop actual designs P&ID to meet customer contract requirements, R&D targets and/or local sourcing.

 

Tasks:

  • Be familiar with Siemens gas turbine auxiliary system
  • Learn Process and Instrumentation Diagram (P&ID) design software PROCHEM (CAD tool)
  • Create/modify Process and Instrumentation Diagram (P&ID) for gas turbine auxiliary system. Modify P&ID drawing notes and title block per Siemens drawing standards.
  • Create/modify Wiring Diagram for gas turbine auxiliary system. Modify Wiring Diagram drawing notes and title block per Siemens drawing standards.

Requirements:

- Master degree or above in Mechanical Engineering, Thermal Engineering, or Aeronautical Engineering.

- Good knowledge of gas turbine or steam turbine auxiliary system, like lube oil, fuel gas, fuel oil & water, hydraulic, instrument air and secondary air as well as of components like valves, pumps, actuators and control blocks.

- Basic knowledge in Turbo machinery/ Turbo Machine Design

- Chinese and English language skills are essential. Fluent English in reading and writing.

- Graduate in 2012

- Expected on-board: July,1, 2011

FEA/ Mechanical Integrity Analyst for Gas Turbine Casing Design

 

Job Description: In this position, you will have opportunities to collaborate with colleagues in a multi-discipline design and engineering team based in China, Europe and US from Internal Siemens to carry out work in the area of mechanical integrity analysis for Casing design and related manufacturing process.

 

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Master degree or above in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Mechanics, Material Science and Engineering or Aeronautical Engineering
  • Advanced knowledge of 2D and 3D FE modeling and calculation of axial symmetric components (contact modeling, transient calculation, transient boundary conditions)
  • Strong mechanics background, could conduct conventional/hand calculation for given mechanics problem
  • Be able to suggest design changes / corrective actions based on analysis outcome.
  • Take care to come with a conclusion on results.
  • Be able to perform primary stress, creep assessment, deformation analysis and modal analysis wherever required. Skilled and familiar with Fracture assessment and Lifing required.
  • Basic knowledge in Turbomachinery/ Turbo Machine Design
  • Experience in using ANSYS
  • Manufacturing experience is a plus
  • Chinese and English language skills are essential. Fluent English in reading and writing. Presentation skills are highly desirable.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to work with multi-cultural colleagues, customers, industry experts, and university associates.

 

Desired Characteristics

  • Familiar with 6 sigma methods and tools
  • Have background and understanding on GT design to understand how the part behaves in GT environment.
