Job Description
Job title: Mechanical Engineer
Job purpose: Develop new tool and features, update old tools.
Key Responsibilities: Responsible for static, dynamic design, and analysis of mechanical systems, equipment and packages. Conduct feasibility studies and testing on new and modified designs. Directs support personnel in the preparation of detailed design, design testing and prototype fabrication. Provide design information to drafting for packaging documentation.
Exercise judgment within generally defined practices and policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Require a BS degree or equivalent experience in mechanical and system design. Design by 3D solid modelling tools. Familiar with manufacturing processes including machining, sheet metal fabrication, welding fabrication and castings. Able to produce concept designs and finished detail design.
Assemble prototypes with assistance from manufacturing assemblers. Must be able to generate ECO documentation required to release the design to manufacturing. Familiarity with documentation tools such as Oracle is desirable.
Selection Criteria:
- Bachelor degree in mechanical, equivalent. Master degree in related field is preferred.
- Proficient with solid modeling tools (Pro/E, AutoCAD, etc), engineering analysis tools and FEA tools.
- Experience in design, developing and sustaining of sophisticated electromechanical assembly like stage assembly are advantageous.
- Solid background in the areas of motion control and structural dynamics will be a big plus.
