ZAIS manages over $7 billion of structured finance securities through its Red Bank (NJ), London (England), Tokyo (Japan), and Shanghai (China) offices. The Company brings a disciplined, strategic approach to investing that emphasizes market and deal analysis. We are looking for a team-oriented software engineer who is interested in being a part of a dynamic investment management firm and enjoys working in a fast-paced, highly challenging environment.

 

Duties

As a Programmer Analyst within the Technology and Analytics team, you will work closely with all divisions of the firm, ranging from portfolio management, research, finance/accounting, middle-office, and risk management. Daily activities will include requirements gathering, interaction with application users, and application software development to support our growing hedge fund. You will work in a fluid, rapid application development environment where timely response and the ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously are mandatory.

Requirements

The candidate will have a Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, mathematics, physics, or related field of study from a top school. Specific requirements include:

• Strong knowledge and experience with C#, C++, Java, and/or other object-oriented programming languages
• Solid understanding of object-oriented programming and design
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong quantitative/analytical skills
• Knowledge of Windows, Linux, or Unix operating systems
• A strong interest in financial markets and instruments

Prior software development work experience is preferred. Knowledge of finance, accounting, or debt capital markets is a strong plus. Previous work experience in financial services is beneficial.
