In late 2009, GE Aviation and AVIC Systems of China announced an agreement to form a new joint venture to develop and market integrated avionics systems for commercial aircraft customers.
Announced in mid 2010, this business will be providing avionics systems for China’s first large commercial aircraft, the COMAC C919. The COMAC C919 is scheduled to enter service in 2016 and will produce more than 2,000 aircrafts over the next 20 years.
