　　宝马集团是德国最成功的汽车和摩托车制造商之一，也是德国规模最大的制造工业公司之一。宝马集团拥有BMW、MINI和Rolls-Royce 三个品牌，是世界上唯一一家只专注于高档领域的汽车制造商。作为一家跨国公司，宝马集团在全球13个国家拥有24个生产基地，并在超过140个国家拥有销售网络。

　　2010财年，宝马集团的全球汽车总销量约146万辆。集团总收入达604.77亿欧元。截至2010年12月31日，宝马集团在全球的员工总数为95,453名。

　　1994年4月，宝马集团在华设立代表处-宝马汽车公司北京代表处，标志着宝马集团正式进入大中华区市场。2005年10月，宝马（中国）汽车贸易有限公司成立，它的成立是宝马集团对中国市场长期承诺的又一里程碑。

　　目前，通过进口与沈阳工厂的生产，BMW全系列车型，包括BMW 1系、3系、5系、6系、7系、X系、Z系、高性能M系， MINI及Rolls-Royce汽车在中国大陆均有销售。在2010年，宝马汽车在中国大陆的销量达到168,998辆，使中国跃升为宝马全球第三大市场。
