The laboratory is engaged in the study of mycobacterial pathophysiology and host-pathogen interactions, particularly the study of Mycobacterium tuberculosis, the causative agent of tuberculosis.  An experienced technician is required for engagement in the cutting edge research of the laboratory.  The PI is a recent faculty appointment with training at Harvard and Cambridge Universities – all laboratory activities will be conducted in English, and relevant research training and presentation skills in English will be given.  We are particularly focussed on investigating mycobacterial drug tolerance mechanisms, basic pathophysiology, and host-pathogen interactions.  Relevantly qualified candidates in microbiology, molecular biology or biochemistry are encouraged to apply.

本实验室主要从事分枝杆菌病理学及与宿主作用机制的研究，尤其是结核分枝杆菌致病机理的研究。现招聘一名实验人员 (有经验者优先)做实验室相关工作。因本实验室领导人是英国人（先后在剑桥和哈佛大学做过博士和博士后），因此实验、相关研究培训及交流都要用英语进行。本实验室重点研究结核杆菌耐药机制、基础病理生理学及结核杆菌与宿主之间的相互作用。欲招聘一名背景为微生物学、分子生物学或生物化学专业人员。

Responsibilities:工作职责

1. Engaging in innovative research in bacterial genetics and pathology.  Particular tasks will include PCR, cloning and bacterial and mammalian cell culture.开展细菌基因学和病原学的创新性研究，特别是PCR、克隆及细菌/哺乳动物细胞培养。

2. Maintenance of bacterial and mammalian cell-lines and stock细菌和哺乳动物细胞的培养以及保存。

3. Making up laboratory buffers and reagents.配置实验室溶液和试剂。

Requirements/Skill:要求/技能：1. Experience in molecular biology, microbiology or biochemistry, with research background of master’s degree.有分子生物学、微生物学或生物化学研究背景经验的硕士。 

2. Good English – both written and oral – the PI is not a fluent Chinese speaker.英语写作和口语良好——因实验室领导人汉语不流利。

3. A high sense of responsibility, integrity and team spirit.具有高度责任感，为人正直，具备团队合作精神。

4. Special training in working with mycobacteria will be given if necessary, but those with relevant experience are encouraged to apply.如果有必要，会给予分枝杆菌相关培训，但鼓励具备相关工作经验人员申请。
