The Office Mobile Shared Services (OMSS) team is looking for smart, motivated, and passionate people to help us define the next Office Mobile experiences. We are a newly formed team in the Office product group and our goal is to enable the best mobile productivity experiences for our customers. To achieve this goal we are looking at building applications, rolling out new services, forging deep partnerships and alliances, and deeply integrating the Office experiences across mobile platforms.  
   
The Office Mobile Shared Services - China team is a new extension to the OMSS team with an aggressive charter to deliver core services to millions of users in less than 1 year from now. 
  
This unique position involves technical challenges across multiple operating systems and devices, as well as the chance to work with teams across the company and around the world. In addition to current Windows Phone clients, we're working to bring our solutions to other leading smartphone platforms in the market. Since we're mobile, the features will engage local device services (cellular, audio, video, crypto, sync, GPS, and more) as well as connecting to cloud-based services. 
  
You will be involved in working closely with PM and Test counterparts across multiple orgs to help realize the vision of high quality experiences for mobile office workers. One of our key focus areas for the Office 15 is enabling great mobile to cloud scenarios that allow people to transition seamlessly from desktop, laptop, and mobile devices as well as with a wide range of cloud services. We are using a scenario based engineering model and agile development methodologies with frequent ship dates to rapidly innovate and get new experiences in the hands of our customers as quickly as possible. 
  
You will be responsible for a variety of technologies ranging from lower level protocols & storage, all the way up to great user interfaces, and everything in between. If you like building new software applications, want to get into mobile and work across different platforms in a dynamic and growing team then this is the opportunity for you! 
  
The ideal candidate will have: 
- Successful track record as a software design engineer with multiple software ship cycles. 
- Experience designing, implementing, and shipping high quality mobile applications & user interfaces on one or more of Windows Mobile, Symbian, iPhone, Android or other mobile platform. 
- Experience developing software on mobile devices where memory and performance constraints exist. 
- An unbridled need to get your hands on the latest shiny gadgets 
- Experience working within a geographically-dispersed team. 
  
Competencies and Skills:  
- 5+ years C/C++ software development experience and 1+ years Java development experience 
- Great communication skills in English 
- Passion for new technologies and ability to quickly understand and pick up emerging technologies and applications. 
- BS or higher degree in computer science, computer engineering, or related field.
