斯泰隆以“为客户创造价值”为己任，技术服务及产品开发工程师是确定并引领价值创造的重要部分；同时技术服务工程师也负责新产品及新技术的商业化，将“为客户创造价值”落到实处。

技术服务及产品开发工程师负责理解客户的需求，并将这种需求转化为公司内部的新产品开发项目，引领市场技术的进步，主要职责包括：

·        理解客户需求、引领新产品及新技术的开发，维持斯泰隆在市场上的技术领导地位；

·        为重要客户开发“新技术开发策略”，持续为客户创造价值；

·        将斯泰隆的新产品及新技术商业化。

实际工作过程中，技术服务及产品开发工程师会与不同的部门紧密合作，如斯泰隆全球乳液技术研发中心、斯泰隆全球乳液生产工艺研究中心、销售及市场部门、乳液聚合物生产部门等，不断的将新产品及新技术带入市场。同时，斯泰隆也是一家全球性的公司，技术服务及产品开发工程师会有很多机会与全球不同区域的专家合作、讨论、分享知识及经验，并有机会领导全球开发项目。

·        同学A，材料科学与工程专业硕士毕业，2006年末加入乳液聚合物部门。

·        2007年：经过一段时间培训后，在有经验的Mentor指导下，开始负责一些中小型客户的技术服务工作，学习并积累行业应用经验。

·        2008年：开始负责大型客户的技术服务工作；为更好的支持客户技术开发，在欧洲进行技术培训，同时开始领导一些全球性的新产品开发项目。

·        2009年：领导开发的新产品在市场上收到很好的客户反馈；获邀在欧洲顶尖行业会议上作技术报告，同时在SCI收录期刊上发表１篇研究文章。

Job Description

The TS&D Engineer is accountable to translate customer requirements and market opportunities into

value creating product solutions.

The TS&D Engineer is latex and application expertwhoworks closely with account managers to:

- drive Styron’s technical leadership image in the market

- develop longer term "technical strategy" for key accounts

- implement new products and application technology

The TS&D Engineer leads new product development projects in close cooperation with product

development and process research to develop, scale-up and commercialize new product technologies.

The TS&D Engineer is an externally acknowledged industry expert with thorough application and

product knowledge. The TS&D ensures access to the necessary global application testing capabilities

including (lab tes ting, pilot coating, and analytical services). The TS&D manages external relationships to

institutes and universities and gives outside presentations at key conferences and ins titutes.

Key Responsibilities

The incumbent is as paper indus try specialis t pa rt of the g lobal TS&D organiza tion with two major a reas

of responsibilities:

1.) Technical account responsibility

Identify new market opportunities and support existing business with technical expertise. Design,

lead and interpret experimental laboratory and pilot coater studies to develop cus tomized product

solutions. Work with sales as part of the account team to built close customer relationships and

enhance Dow’s technical leadership image.

2.) Product / application development projects

Work with product development to develop new product solutions. Translate cus tomer

requirements and application needs into product requirements. Implement new products at

customers in close cooperation with other functions (research, process research, analytic,

manufacturing, sales, marketing).

Other Requirements
