PHD was launched in
consolidation. At that time, merging media agencies to create giant buying houses was the way to go, as it
increased negotiation power. The founders of PHD felt that while achieving great value was critical for any
media agency, there was not enough focus on what was being bought. PHD launched as the world’s first strategic
planning led media agency and 21 years later, our core principles of valuing creativity, innovation and smart
thinking, are as true to our business as they ever have been.

Our core services cover strategy development, tactical planning, negotiation, execution and analysis of media
campaigns across all media. We have invested significantly in building resources in our digital team of over 40
people in
complexities of an ever evolving digital landscape we have experts in planning, mobile, search, analytics and
social networking.
We also have additional resources which can be utilised for bespoke project work as and when necessary. These
include a branded content team, an innovation and ideation team and a research division.

n This approach has the ambition of taking smart, curious, ‘lean-forward’ individuals and giving them the best possible foundation course for success in PHD
n A 1 year program of rotation throughout 10 different disciplines,
n Systematic learning of the principles, processes, behaviors, tools and systems
n Underpinned by a panel of mentors and a series of coursework challenges
n Upon graduation, individual and agency agree best future role
How it works:
n 2-4 exceptional graduates will be awarded PHD Management Development Course positions
n Year 1:
n Rotation through 10 disciplines to give a holistic understanding of the total function of PHD’s business
n Coursework, presentations and assessments will need to be completed throughout the year as well as an end of year project
n Year 2 :
n Deeper immersion into 1-2 discipline areas
n For the duration of the programme (2 years), each trainee will be assigned a mentor from the PHD National Leadership team
n This will an expert in the industry with a minimum 15 years experience
n There will be client exposure and an expectation that the candidates can present internally and externally during year 1
n The expectation is that after 2 years, the successful candidates should be at a competency level and value to the company equivalent to someone of 5-7 years experience through normal working route
