Duties

As a part-time Junior System Administrator within the IT infrastructure team, you will work closely with a wide range of technologies and interact with all teams in the organization. Infrastructure related activities include antivirus/spam protection administration, hardware troubleshooting, and desktop imaging /support. Opportunity (and expectation) to grow into backup administration and server management.

You will work in a fluid, rapid application development environment where timely response and the ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously are mandatory.

Requirements

The candidate will be working toward a Bachelor of Science degree in computers, engineering, or related field of study. Specific requirements include:

* Excellent English written and verbal communication skills

* Experience with desktop support/imaging

* Knowledge of MS Active Directory

* Knowledge of MS Exchange

* Knowledge of network protocols

* Knowledge/Troubleshooting experience with MS Server OS series (2003-2008)

* Knowledge of Windows operating systems

Prior System Administrator work experience is preferred but not required. Knowledge of finance, accounting, or debt capital markets is a plus. Previous work experience in financial services is beneficial.

As a Programmer Analyst within the Technology and Analytics team, you will work closely with all divisions of the firm, ranging from portfolio management, research, finance/accounting, middle-office, and risk management. Daily activities will include requirements gathering, interaction with application users, and application software development to support our growing hedge fund. You will work in a fluid, rapid application development environment where timely response and the ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously are mandatory.

Requirements:

The candidate will have a Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, mathematics, physics, or related field of study from a top school. Specific requirements include:

* Strong knowledge and experience with C#, C++, Java, and/or other object-oriented programming languages

* Solid understanding of object-oriented programming and design

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills

* Strong quantitative/analytical skills

* Knowledge of Windows, Linux, or Unix operating systems

* A strong interest in financial markets and instruments

Prior software development work experience is preferred. Knowledge of finance, accounting, or debt capital markets is a strong plus. Previous work experience in financial services is beneficial.
