An overview of the role

·        Sector Knowledge Analysts execute knowledge-management and insight-generation activities in support of two core objectives:  (1) business development (with an emphasis on both new-market entry and increasing market share in core segments) and (2) driving speed and quality of search execution.  

·        In support of these objectives, Sector Knowledge Analysts are responsible for two core streams of activities.  First, supporting a rigorous approach to managing knowledge, with an emphasis on ensuring that market-facing teams are able to quickly find (and use) information/tools/data that prove essential for meeting their objectives.  Second, generating insight (in the form of thought-leadership deliverables) that garners market attention, conveys compelling points of view, and enriches the content of market-facing advisory work.

·        Working within a single Sector, Sector Knowledge Analysts will partner with Sector Knowledge Managers and Sector Leaders around the world to support the fulfilment of sector knowledge agendas.  To execute against these agendas, they will partner directly with Sector Leadership, researchers, and search consultants. 

·        Sector Knowledge Analysts will report on a dual-line to a Sector Knowledge Manager and to a member of the leadership team of the sector which he/she supports.

·        Of note, the firm has recently created a dedicated Knowledge Management group, which is being launched as a key lever in continuing to differentiate the firm through knowledge-driven search and assessment.  Sector Knowledge Analysts will play a key role in fully establishing and embedding this group within the firm (while simultaneously executing against the demands of their day-to-day responsibilities).  Correspondingly, the role requires energetic self-starters with a demonstrated ability to drive results in demanding, entrepreneurial environments.

Candidate Profile

Education

·        Bachelor’s degree from a highly-respected institution.

·        Outstanding record of academic achievement.

Required Skills

·        Outstanding problem solver; highly analytical; superior logical reasoning capabilities; excellent qualitative analysis skills; comfort with (and willingness to develop) quantitative analysis skills.

·        Ability to quickly filter and synthesize large volumes of information, identifying key points and providing relevant insights to senior leaders.

·        Excellent writing skills and presentation-development capabilities; demonstrated ability to produce succinct, relevant documentation; demonstrated ability to conceptualize and execute insight-rich reports.

·        Outstanding oral communication skills; ability to state points clearly and concisely.

·        Excellent project- and time-management skills.

·        Highly effective in working as a member of a team.

·        Highly proficient in Excel and PowerPoint; familiarity with statistical software packages a plus.
