1 Project Engineer, Engine Combustion (Beijing)
Objective of job
Due to the rapidly growth of Mercedes Benz in China and the associated expansion projects for the localization of passenger car engines, now we are looking for young talents to join us to enhance a Engine R&D team in our China Tech Center. You will be assigned to HQ in Germany for 1~2 years for a individual training program and to buildup the basic know-how of Engine development.
Job designation
1 Obejectives of practices in Germany:
• Buildup of combustion know-how by “real-job-assignment“ at concrete projects
• Buildup of know-how to run engine test benches and to develop calibration on benches
• Buildup of know-how to develop calibration in passenger vehicles
• Understanding of implementation of engine test benches
• Buildup of know-how for preparing, running and evaluating emission tests
• Networking within combustion engine development in Stuttgart/Sindelfingen
• Participation in test drives
2 Tasks in China:
• Testing in China
o Co-ordination of endurance runs in China concerning requirements of combustion-relevant contents, emissions, cold start, etc.
o Specific functional testing, support of endurance runs and evaluation
o Interface and partner to the specialist departments in Stuttgart/Sindelfingen
• Co-ordination of Testing and Analyses of local Fuels and Oils
o Fuels, oils, additives
o Supervision of institutes for analyses, interface to specialist department in Stuttgart
o Bad fuel testing in all relevant engine calibrations
• Localization
o Examination of calibration locally in co-ordination with the specialist department in Germany
o Running of combustion engines on test benches in China Tech Center
o Testing combustion engines locally with regard to calibration and maturity
Qualification required
Education
• Bachelor degree or above, major in Mechanical engineer
Experience
• Fresh graduates or have 1~3 years relevant working experience
Specific Knowledge
• Good command of English, both oral & written; German is preferred
• Oversea studies or practices in Germany is preferred
• Open minded, willing to learn, good communication skills

o Series production, designing correctives for customer’s claims
o To be partner and support for After-Sales for imported and local passenger vehicles
o To be partner and support for production
o Co-ordination of production testing
• Market orientation and market specific calibration
o Collecting and analyzing of data from customers
o Determination of spec. market requirements concerning power train and vehicle
o Specialist for China-specific power train calibrations
Qualification required
Education

3 Testing Engineer (Beijing)

Job designation
Ensure that our vehicles fulfil entirely the required standards regarding long-term quality and endurance for Chinese environment, driving- and street-conditions. Your diverse tasks and responsibilities include the following:
• Evaluating test vehicles regarding NVH, Interior, Powertrain, Chassis and Suspension behaviour
• Prepare and participate on Test Routes in Beijing, North and South China
• Evaluate and verify supplier results by endurance testing as well as by vehicle driving test runs
• Issue Analysis
• Testing new components in testing vehicles
• Work together with cross-functional departments like product planning, quality and logistics, set up project milestones as well as coordinate activities to pursue tight time schedules
• Adaptation and implementation of German testing standards in China
Qualification required
Education
• Degree in recognized automotive education
Experience
• Graduates with first experience in automotive industry (e.g. internships) as well as applicants with minimum 2-3 years work experience at OEMs or suppliers
• Excellent driving skills
Specific Knowledge
• Capable of evaluating test vehicles regarding NVH, Interior, Powertrain, Chassis and Suspension behavior
• Very good Technical understanding of Vehicles
• Willingness to travel inside China and abroad
• Chinese native speaker with fluent English language skills
• Self-responsible working attitude and initiative
• Intercultural competence and communication skills with various hierarchy levels
• High commitment to automobiles
