ROLE DETAILS
Role Title: Biotech Regulatory Affairs Specialist    Department or Function: Regulatory Affairs
Reports to: Biotech Regulatory Affairs Manager    Location: Changping, Beijing, China
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Maintain au-to-date and detailed understanding of GM plant import and cultivation regulatory and approval requirements, procedures and timelines.
Ensure timely submissions of dossiers to get approvals to conduct regulated field trials.
Ensure management of regulated field trials achieves compliance with external and internal standards.
Submit requests and obtain required approvals for import into China and export from China of Syngenta GM plant materials for Research purposes.
To coordinate logistics and project management with Syngenta and external partners involved in GM plant research and regulated laboratory and field studies.
To track local GM plant studies to ensure on-time development of reports to be included in dossier submissions, and manage other administrative work associated with this
To follow through on all Seeds RA actions needed with government officials in Provinces where regulated trials are to be conducted.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

Critical Knowledge:
Graduated with Master or higher degree in plant biotechnology or related area.
Knowledge of human, animal and environmental risk assessment methodology and procedures.

Critical Skills: 
Good scientific writing and ability to draft technical texts.
Good communication skills in English, written and verbally.

Critical Experience:
Combination of good academic background with ability to communicate clearly and effectively; and negotiation skills
Experience in Plant Biotechnology regulation and, or research, preferred

Other Behaviors Critical for the role:
Willing and able to work effectively with commitment to meet tight deadlines.
Flexibility and willingness to travel as required.
Care for details and accuracy.
Open-minded.
