Internship starting from May 2012 (Full-time, 3-6 months - Unpaid in the first 3 months, basic allowance if extended to 6 months).
Job Description
The intern will assist the Business & Government Affairs Manager with the coordination and organisation of Working Groups and Government affairs-related activities at the Shenzhen Office of the European Union Chamber of Commerce in China. Specific duties include:
Government Affairs:
- Schedule meetings with Chinese government authorities by giving the phones calls to them, finding the right contact person and obtaining the meetings with them.
- Take minutes of meetings when/if required
- Provide translation assistance related to government communication but not limited to that
- Provide presentation material related to Working Groups and related seminars
- Complete specific research on issues/regulations/policies in preparation for Working Groups
- Update mailing lists
Event management:
- Logistical tasks needed in managing Working Groups and organising government meetings
- Document preparation: agenda, registration lists, receipts...
- Responsible for the registration desk (set up, banners, brochures, registration lists, collection of entrance fees, issuing of receipts, photos, etc) of the events.
Administrative tasks:
- Responsible of basic office management: courier service, office stationery supply, copier/printing machine, etc.
- Assist with office cash accounting
Candidates

Non-Chinese applicants will need to provide evidence of a valid working or student visa to cover the period of the internship.
Qualifications
- Native-level fluency in spoken and written Mandarin Chinese
- Excellent command of spoken and written English
- University student of any discipline
- Good organisational, communication, social and presentation skills
- Ability to organize and multi-task projects
- Ability to work well with others in a team environment, as well as to work independently
- Computer literacy, including Microsoft Outlook, Powerpoint, Word, and Excel
- Flexible and proactive attitude
