2012 Internship Description – Potential of Full-time Job
The Albright Stonebridge Group, a leading strategy and government affairs consulting practice, seeks an intern as research assistant based in its Shanghai office. This person would support the Albright Stonebridge Group (ASG) China practice, a dynamic and growing team of first-class professionals based in China (Beijing and Shanghai) and Washington, DC. The intern will support ASG staff on news monitoring, research and part of the administrative roles at the Shanghai office. There is also opportunity for the intern to work with the ASG staff in preparing and drafting client-related products. The ideal candidate would possess advanced bilingual research, writing and speaking capabilities in Chinese and English. Knowledge of economic, political, commercial and public policy issues is a strong plus. The internship can start immediately with specific schedule and terms to be discussed in person.
This candidate has potentials to become a full-time staff of the company after school graduation if his or her qualification is well recognized by the supervisor during the internship
Major Responsibilities:
· Ability to conduct independent news monitoring and summarization under supervisor’s guidance
· Assist the ASG staff to conduct thorough and broad-based research on a variety of sectors and issues through Chinese and foreign-based web resources.
· Ability to independently draft research report under supervisor’s guidance
· Assist with the administrative work at the Shanghai office as required.
Key Qualifications:
· A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree student from a reputable university, with major in English, law, political science, public relations, international affairs, government studies, or trade policy being an advantage.
· Ability to learn quickly and have an eye of detail.
· Knowledge of economic, political, commercial and public policy issues is a strong plus.
· Ability to work independently under supervisor’s guidance and be a good team player.
· Ability to work under deadline and handle multiple assignments simultaneously
· Above all, unquestionable ethics and integrity.
