Job Description: Position in the development group responsible for the NX Nastran structural finite element software. Responsible for developing algorithms and writing and reviewing the associated computer software in a team environment. Apply an understanding of customer requirements and how customers will use the product. Participate in formal Requirements, Functional Specification, Design Specification, and Test Plan reviews for software projects. Evaluate development, testing, and integration processes to recommend improvements. Contribute to product quality by fixing customer reported problems. Assist with user documentation.
Requirements: Advanced degree in Applied Mechanics, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent.
Desired expertise: · Finite Element Methods as applied to structural dyanmics. · Background in Non-Linear Structure Analysis, theory & practice · Numerical analysis techniques for nonlinear transient/dynamic problems · Proficient in a programming language (FORTRAN, C ) · Sense of initiative with good organization skills · Good communication skills and the ability to work well in a team

Job Description: Create, design new project test plans to qualify the contents of project requirements and functional specifications. Design test cases listed in the project test plan. Improve test specifications analyzing the root causes of technical issues, and develop testing solutions for those root causes. Create and apply new approaches as necessary to improve the productivity and efficiency of testing. Acquire customer inputs for project testing purposes. Technical lead in guiding junior engineers. Works with minimal supervision on complex projects with latitude for independent judgment. Broad skill set with extensive proficiency across multiple product lines.
Prerequisites and Essential Functions: · Major in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Computer Engineering · Bachelor’s Degree with 6 to 8 years of experience working in engineering position · Master’s Degree with 2 to 4 years of experience working in engineering position · PhD with 0 to 2 years of experience working in engineering position · CAD, CAM, CAE, or PDM software experience required · Broad experience using MS Windows required · Knowledge of Finite Element Analysis theory required · Experience using Finite Element solvers a plus · Broad experience in UNIX or Linux a plus · Ability to solve complex issues using analytical skills · Must have good written and verbal communication skills · Ability to work on multiple complex project simultaneously · Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly and effectively
