User Experience Designer (Intern)

 

Primary Responsibility

 

Helps evangelize a user-centered design (UCD) process throughout company. Works with teams to help them improve the overall user experience and to streamline aspects of development process related to the GUI. Ensures UI specifications are completed in the design phase and is responsible for user experience throughout product lifecycle.

 

Primary Role:

Design UIs based on user research, human-factors principles, platform style guides and industry experience in the form of high fidelity prototypes and formal UI specifications. Produce detailed UI specifications to guide development efforts on new features and individual products, including:

-Persona, Scenario, Use cases

-Task analysis & Usability testing

-Conceptual models & Interaction models

-Screen layouts & Supporting prototypes (high and low fidelity)

-Experienced in Design tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator

-Flash Demo develop (Flash AS2 & 3)

-UI realization & develop (familiar with Html, CSS and Blend Silverlight, C# will be a plus)

 

Qualifications:

-Graduate level training in:

-Human Computer Interaction or CS

-Fine Arts or Graphic Design

-Human Factors or Cognitive Psychology

-Industrial Design or Information Design

-Other related discipline

 

Skills:

Experience in translating user data and human-factors principles into UI designs via prototypes, and detailed UI reviews/specifications. Experience with developing user profiles, use cases, and scenarios. Have experience with two or more formal UI evaluation and requirements analysis methods (e.g., task analyses, field studies, formal UI reviews, usability tests, and surveys). Demonstrated ability to learn complex technology. Must be a solid team player with good writing, presentation and time management skills. Must be able to work effectively with teams to prioritize UI issues and review the results of user research.
