Job Title: Trainee of Systems Engineer/Technical Partner Advisor
Job Summary:
As an enrty-level Systems Engineer in NetApp’s Field Operations function, you are responsible for providing pre-sales support for selling NetApp’s Products, Solutions and Professional Services to existing and potential customers, under necessary mentorship and coaching by experience NetApp professionals.
You will develop and utilize your technical and relationship building skills in working with data protection and data management solution vendors, partners and sales representatives to ensure that optimum systems solutions are provided to customers.
In this entry-level professional position, your overall focus areas will be in supporting and developing processes and systems for quick and thorough responses to customer RFP’s, provide systems configuration recommendations, and apply your background and experience to deliver solutions to technical problems. You will build your technical and customer services skills by working directly with customers and gaining knowledge from more senior NetApp professionals within and beyond Field Operations function. You will also be required to learn from existing best practices and customer references to improve and mature your pre-sales skills.
Essential Functions:
The essential responsibilities of the Systems Engineers are to work directly with the NetApp sales team to support customers in pre-sales and, sometimes, post sales situations, and to work effectively across functions with other NetApp employees in Sales, Marketing, and Customer Service & Development areas. Specific responsibilities include:
. Get familiar and confident with NetApp data protection and management solutions within the required period
. Pass NetApp professional or expert certification exams, complete NetApp SE core curriculum exams in a timely manner, in acceptable quality
. When completed the hands-on training program, can handle NetApp system demonstration independently and confidently
. According to requirements from your team leader or mentor, respond to internal technical needs such as demo set up, lab set up and assisting other System Engineering or Sales Rep needs
. Respond to customer needs and requirements as directed by senior SE’s or SRs , including respond to customer RFP’s.
. Provide assistance to System Engineering function on knowledge and document management
. Assist with elements of a customer’s technical computing environment.
. Answer customer questions. Provide technical support to current customer and “try-and-buy” test projects.
. Support customer acceptance criteria for “try-and-buy” evaluation projects.
. Pick up and deliver NetApp evaluation test system to customer site, together with courier vendors and/or channel partner engineers.
. Work with NetApp channel partners to deliver NetApp tech-refresh trainings, program trainings, and regular technical updates
. Attend customer calls with the Sales Representative, under senior SE mentorship and then independently.
. Provide technical consultation and disseminate product information to the sales team.
Requirements:
. Critical and Logical thinking
. Good written and verbal communication skills, in Mandarin and English.
. Good interpersonal communication and customer service skills are needed in order work successfully with prospects, customers, and cross functional teams to meet performance goals.
. Account management and project management experience.
. Strong aptitude for learning new technologies and understanding how to utilize them in a customer facing environment.
. Ability to follow standard engineering principles and practices.
. Creative approach to problem solving.
. Comfortable with intensive travels to the prospective customer's sites as necessary.
Responsibility and Interaction:
. Responsibility:
o This individual will apply attained experiences and knowledge in solving routine problems using established policies and standard practices.
o Is responsible for a specific geographical install base.
. Interaction:
o This individual effectively works with internal personnel.
o Regular and detailed direction is provided to them by their manager on regular work; as well as on-going review of activities and priorities.
o The ideal candidate contributes proactively to team efforts.
Education & Experience:
. 0 to 2 years of experience is required. (To be confirmed by TSO and HR management)
. A Bachelor of Sciences Degree in Computer Science; or equivalent is required
. CET-6 and equivalent English language skill, both in written and verbally
. Good understanding of IT industry and technical trends
. Experience which demonstrates an ability to understand and communicate technical solutions selling concepts is beneficial.
