Statoil is an international energy company with operations in 36 countries. We have a global R&D organization with more than 700 researchers and a budget of more than 3 Billion RMB. Our branch in Beijing was established last year with a team of 8 researchers working on seismic imaging. This year we are expanding our activity establishing a second team working on reservoir simulation and EOR (enhanced oil recovery).
We will recruit 8-10 research candidates to this new R&D department. The group will cooperate with other research and developments teams around the world to achieve Statoil’s ambition of 60% recovery rate. The research topics are in the field of reservoir simulation and EOR methods; such as chemical flooding, polymer flooding, low salinity water injection, and microbial EOR. The group will develop reservoir simulation software with EOR capabilities, perform simulation studies, identify and optimize strategies for various reservoirs. We are building a strong team of researchers with PhD from reservoir engineering, physics, applied mathematics, and computer science.
We are also looking for strong candidates for our seismic imaging group. Strong candidates within geophysics, applied mathematics or computer science are welcome to apply.
