Cambridge Associates Investment Consultancy (Beijing) Ltd. 2013年度招聘
Firm Introduction:
Cambridge Associates was founded in the early 1970s to assist nonprofit institutions with the investment of their endowment assets. Today, we provide investment consulting, financial planning and proprietary capital markets research to over 900 clients, including charities, colleges and universities, foundations, medical institutions, museums, other endowed nonprofit institutions, families, pension funds, and large governmental investors. More than 200 of these clients are domiciled outside of the United States. Cambridge Associates’ clients represent over US$4.3 trillion in assets in all asset categories, including equities, bonds, non-US investments, real estate, venture capital, hedge funds, leveraged buyout funds, oil and gas partnerships, and many other types of investments. We monitor the performance of nearly all major institutional investment managers and provide an advanced monitoring service for our clients to evaluate alternative assets managers such as venture capital and real estate firms.
We have a professional staff consisting of approximately 220 Consultants and 170 Consulting Associates in eight offices located in Arlington, Beijing, Boston, Dallas, London, Menlo Park, Singapore and Sydney. We select our employees with great attention to realize their potential in becoming valuable members of a collegial, intelligent and hard-working team. Due to continued growth we are currently seeking to add a full-time Consulting Associate in our Beijing office. We are currently recruiting for individuals who are either recent graduates or have 1 to 2 years of work experience. The new hire is expected to start work in early 2013, with a potential opportunity to receive comprehensive training in one of our international offices after joining.
Consulting Associate:
Consulting Associates (CAs) work closely with members of the consulting staff in providing investment and capital markets research, analysis, and advice to our clients. Responsibilities include gathering and analyzing historical asset allocation, spending, and performance data; evaluating financial histories; analyzing investment managers’ portfolios; preparing exhibits and other presentation documentation; and answering client questions and requests. CAs often attend client and investment manager meetings.
Each CA generally is responsible for -a number of different clients and handles several projects at once. Every CA is responsible for arranging his or her schedule and priorities in order to meet deadlines; however, there is a strong tradition of teamwork and cooperation among members of the consulting associate staff to help manage the workload. Although the position involves quantitative analysis, there is also a strong qualitative component as CAs work to describe market conditions and relay investment recommendations to clients in written reports.
In order to better understand the CA position, the following list provides examples of the type of activities undertaken by a CA on a daily basis. Obviously, this is not an exhaustive list and as a CA progresses up the learning curve, more opportunities and detailed projects present themselves:
- Conduct quantitative and qualitative analyses within client teams to develop recommendations for institutional portfolios;
- Analyze and graphically illustrate the effects of investment returns, spending, and inflation on the value of an endowment;
- Use quantitative models to examine the risk-return relationship of various asset classes;
- Meet with consultants to outline the analyses and presentation materials required for upcoming clients’ investment committee meetings;
- Analyze portfolio managers’ equity, fixed income, hedge or private equity portfolios; prepare written summaries of investments results; evaluate investment managers qualitatively and quantitatively and analyze their function within client portfolios;
- Gather exhibits for use in the final meeting materials by using several in-house databases; coordinate the creation of these meeting materials with the consulting, administrative and production staff ;
- Interact with clients and investment managers to complete requests; attend investment manager presentations or local client meetings;
- Assist peers with projects when workload permits and attend CA team meetings to discuss operational issues.
Given the stage of development of our Beijing office and the uniqueness of our client relationships as well as strategic efforts in China, the scope of work for a CA here may be broader than the typical CA role in our other offices as described above. Other activities a CA may perform here include conducting desktop research for business development efforts, preparing presentation materials for marketing meetings and attending these meetings if appropriate, participating in investment manager meetings or due diligence projects and producing written reports afterwards, and so on. Flexibility with regard to daily activities is an important consideration.
