Title: Researcher / Associate

Job Description:

Report to: Team Leader

Job purpose:

  1. Work closely with consultants to deliver quality service to clients for assignments.
  2. Assist team leader to buildup and upgrade internal database management systems.

Job accountabilities:

  1. Assist the Lead Consultant to research the company and its industry/segment to prepare him for the pitch
  2. Confidentially talk to relevant industry/company contacts to get a useful background about the current state of the client organization and the client contacts where possible
  3. Make time to attend the pitch if invited to get a first hand feel about the client organization and its needs
  4. Otherwise, make sure the lead consultant tell you everything he has learnt from the client, ask questions that clarifies
  5. Do a quick check on the target universe and discuss & finalize proper search strategy with lead consultant & client
  6. Map out target company list and the likely titles of relevant position holders there
  7. Get really familiar with the company and position briefs, and practice adequately before making the first call
  8. Be clear in your own mind of what are the few things that are attractive about the opportunity, and the few things that the candidate must have - before he/she can be considered
  9. Be disciplined, screen out the under-qualified, and keep the qualified in play
  10. Provide weekly market feedback on sourcing activities, recommend change in strategy if necessary, & in good time
  11. Let your lead consultant interview a benchmark candidate ASAP, fine tune, then have him meet your pre-qualified shortlist soon as you can assemble them. Be mindful your team is meeting the milestones/timeline as agreed before with the client.
  12. Keep those candidates preferred by the lead consultant warm and excited
  13. Share your views or informal reference checks on the candidates with the lead consultant
  14. Assist in formation of the shortlist
  15. Help him schedule first round client interviews
  16. Ensure all candidates are fully briefed whom they are meeting, where & when
  17. Ensure debriefings happen after the interviews, and that the consultant takes the appropriate actions with each of the shortlisted. Deputize where necessary & when asked.
  18. Help him schedule the second/third round interviews with the lead candidate(s) after the first round
  19. Stay close to the lead candidate all the time and alert the lead consultant of anything he needs be aware of during the close
