Subject: a full time research assistant/post doctorate fellow at the University of Hong Kong Shenzhen Institute of Research and Innovation (HKU-SIRI) at the Shenzhen Software Park

Dr. Wai Yuen Szeto is looking for a full time research assistant and a post doctorate candidate working in HKU-SIRI at the Shenzhen Software Park. The job is to assist carrying out transportation research related to one of his research areas. Dr Szeto’s research areas include

· Bike sharing and network design

· Dynamic traffic assignment

· Environmental sustainability

· Game theory approaches to transport and logistic problems

· Intelligent transportation systems

· Landuse-transport-environment interaction modeling

· Matheuristics and metaheuristics

· Multi-objective optimization

· Pricing in transport networks

· Public transport

· Sustainable transport

· Taxi modelling

· Transport logistics

· Transport network design

· Transport network reliability and resilience

The candidate should have good communication skills in either English or Cantonese. Good programming skills, optimization techniques or statistical skills are preferable. The candidates will also have a chance to further study or work in the University of Hong Kong after finishing the work at HKU-SIRI.

The duration of the job depends on the title (postdoc or student research assistant) and the status of the candidate (whether he is a Shenzhen citizen).  It is expected that the candidate can start working as soon as possible.
