微软亚洲研究院"明日之星"实习生项目

Microsoft Research Asia is recruiting interns for Stars of Tomorrow Internship Program.

微软亚洲研究院是微软公司在美国本土之外最大的基础科研机构，被美国著名技术杂志MIT  《Technology Review》誉为"世界上最火的计算机实验室"。 自1998年成立以来，启动了面向亚太区高校博士生、硕士生和优秀本科生的"明日之星"实习生项目。该项目由微软亚洲研究院和国内外高校共同执行，旨在培养高素质的计算机基础研究人才。实习生进入微软亚洲研究院后深入到每个研究小组进行为期三个月或更长时间的实习。截止至2011年9月，已有4000名来自亚太区高校的学生到微软亚洲研究院实习，平均每年有400个实习机会开放给所有的学生。

Group Overview

The Research Connections Group nurtures strong mutually supportive partnerships between MSR Asia and the academic community. Since MSR Asia's inception, the Research Connections program has recognized the inherent value of the academic research community and the need for collaboration between academia and industry to advance the state-of-the-art in computer science. The foundation for all Microsoft Research's Research Connections efforts is a deep respect for the "virtuous cycle" that is created when university and industry researchers work together.

 

 

Roles & Responsibilities

Microsoft Research Asia Research Connections Group is looking for an intern who will assist Research Connections Members with program coordination and related support.

 

 

Required Qualifications:

 

• MS/PhD in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science or any related technical field
• Good reading, written, and oral both in Chinese and English;
• Good communications, project management and interpersonal skills.
• Familiar with MSTC operational handbook will be preferred;
• Well-organized, initiative taking and self-motivated.
• Related work and voluntary experience a plus.
• Can commit at least 6 months internship, can get your advisor's approval.

Position: Full-time Intern

Group: Public Relations Group

Work Location: Beijing

 

 

Roles & Responsibilities

The Public Relations Group of Microsoft Research Asia is recruiting a full-time Graphic Design intern, who will work closely with PR team to create visually, emotionally and must professional (Microsoft metro deep understanding first) engaging communication materials.

 

The work would include high-visibility output for both online and physical assets for Microsoft Research Asia, includes:

• Conceptualize and design fully integrated web/email/print campaigns (email, newsletter, poster, banners, landing pages, promotions, etc.)
• Conceptualize and design internal company collateral (presentations/PPT, brand identity collateral, signage, etc.)
• Conceptualize and design communication and documentary video demos
• Work closely with vendor teams to ensure a fully cohesive and powerful Microsoft Research Asia experience across the entire PR communication stuffs.

 

 

Required Qualifications:

 

• Bachelor or Master degree in Industrial Design, Visual Design, Communication Design or related fields
• A portfolio that demonstrates experience as a decision maker on various multidisciplinary design projects. (Design fundamentals are a must: portfolios should convey comfort with the graphic design medium including strong typography, layout, identity design, color, usability, and imagery, to name a few.)
• Ability to independently lead all aspects of the design process from conception to completion
• Clearly articulate design decisions
• Deep knowledge of typography and grid systems, pixel-perfect attention to details
• Promote design thinking in Public Relationship team and MSR
• Thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Collaboration and mentor skill with outsourcing vendor design related company such as print co. (experience working with graphic designers and agencies)
• Strong communication skills
• Strong writing and editing skills in Chinese
• Good oral and written English skills
• Good Sense of Public Relations work
• Self-motivated and high attention to details
• Proactive attitude
• Availability as a full time intern of 3 months. A supervisor's approval will be required

Design Skillsets (Fluency in design tools practices):

• Graphic: Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign (Expert Adobe skills)
• Video: Adobe Premier, After Effects, Flash

Innovation Engineering Group (IEG) is hiring interns as SDE role.  Innovation Engineering is a new incubation group in Microsoft Research Asia looking for Research Software Development Engineers to take development in incubation projects from early stage ideas to deployed prototypes with business potential to become "the next big thing".

 

Required Qualifications:

• BS/MS in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science or any related technical field and possess the following skills;
• Good at HTML5, Javascript, SVG;
• Familiar with
• Familiar with design pattern is a plus;
• Fast learning;
• Good communication skills and excellent teamwork.
• Can commit at least 3 months internship, can get your advisor's approval.
