Measure, understand and improve the capabilities of production equipment so that process efficiency can be improved, 2. 2.Improve material yield, rework rate, scrap rate and introduce new processes to reduce cost. 3. 3.Come up with new designs or modifications to equipment when necessary to reduce cost and/or improve process efficiency. 4. Bachelors Degree in materials/metallurgy or related engineering discipline. 2. Two or more years experience in a technical role involving substantial use of metallurgy such as heat treatment or lab. 3. Good background in metallurgy and material processing, ideally with specific knowledge of steels, titanium alloys and superalloys. Heat treatment principles and control of furnaces. 4. Understand technical specifications in English and able to communicate with customers, regulatory agencies and suppliers. 5. The impact of quality on the bottom line. Job Responsibilities: 1. Ensure that furnaces are in good operational condition and qualifications are up to date according to relevant specifications. Set up preventative measures to avoid unplanned furnace shutdowns and non-conformances. 2. Management of metallurgical laboratory. Continuous improvement of lab processes. Organise and coordinate external testing. Function as delegated supplier quality representative when approved. 3. Provide technical support to production with particular emphasis on the metallurgical aspects. Training of others. 4. Maintain and update raw material part information data. |
