The China Prosperity Programme is the FCO's largest devolved Prosperity Programme Fund globally (£4m in FY2013-14). It is a key element of the FCO's foreign policy objective of creating conditions for sustainable global growth and development. It covers four policy strands: economic growth, energy, low carbon and green finance.
The Prosperity Programme is seeking an intern for six months, to contribute to the work of a busy team who manage the projects and ensure that they achieve the strategic aims of the FCO's Prosperity Strategy. Intern responsibilities will include support on website development, communication of project outcomes, events/visits management, information management and general administration. The successful candidate can expect to quickly feel part of a busy team, with opportunities to get involved in policy development and see how other posts in China contribute to the programme. Our current intern says "What does this position offer you? [b]Requirements:[/b]
--University graduate with a proven interest in one or more of the following areas climate change, energy and economic development.
--Excellent written and spoken English.
--Excellent written and spoken communication skills, attention to detail, team working skills and initiative.
--IT skills and Chinese (Mandarin) language skills highly desirable.
[b]Conditions:[/b]
--Weekly stipend
--Conditioned working hours are 35 hours/week from Monday to Friday and flexible working can be arranged upon personal needs.
--Applicants should ideally be already living in China to meet immediate start date and visa issues.
