About Daimler Trucks and Buses China Limited
Daimler announced the establishment of Daimler Trucks and Buses China Ltd.,(DTBC) in Beijing on April 20. The new company, which goes live from Apr. 1st, 2013,will enhance the overall strategic value of Daimler in China. Previously structured as Daimler Trucks China to handle Mercedes-Benz Truck business under the umbrella of Daimler Greater China Limited, DTBC represents an increased focus on the truck market as well as diversification into bus business. As an independent legal entity, the company will more closely integrate all aspects of Daimler's imported trucks and buses with more streamlined management and communication. "DTBC will provide a solid foundation for future expansion of the existing Mercedes-Benz truck business and further broaden our range of products like the imported Mercedes-Benz buses," said Robert Veit, President and CEO of DTBC. "With a challenging truck market in China, the establishment of the company is very timely as DTBC will facilitate strategic planning, greater efficiencies, closer collaboration with partners, and faster response to customers."
