Qualifications:
Essential: Postgraduate study experience in quantitative discipline in an English speaking University; Excellent English communication and presentation skills; Excellent research skills; Research and publications experience; Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment; Ability to work effectively in a multi-cultural environment.
Desirable: PhD (or nearing completion) in a relevant subject; Experience in the UK higher education sector; IELTS 6.5 or above.
Contract Status:
The post will initially be offered on a fixed term contract with the University of Nottingham Ningbo China for a period of two years with effect from 1 September 2013. This contract may be extended on a long term basis by mutual agreement, subject to revised terms and conditions.
Salary & Benefits: RMB 122,000 – RMB 233,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Research: - Support the research being carried out at the UNNC in surveying and GNSS; - Apply for research grants from Chinese sources as well as international sources, and to support Professor in Geospatial Engineering; - Write research papers to a high level of quality for conferences and international journals; - Organize seminars and workshops; - Engage in research in order to keep up to date with developments in the subject area. Administration: - Liaise, as appropriate, with academic and administrative colleagues at the University’s Nottingham and Malaysia campuses; - Perform administrative roles related to teaching and research, as determined by the Professor in Geospatial Engineering; - Take part in and contribute to staff development activities consistent with continuous professional development; - Ensure compliance with health and safety requirements in all aspects of work; - Any other duties appropriate to the post.
