Microsoft Research Asia is recruiting interns for Stars of Tomorrow Internship Program.
微软亚洲研究院是微软公司在美国本土之外最大的基础科研机构，被美国著名技术杂志MIT 《Technology Review》誉为“世界上最火的计算机实验室”。自1998年成立以来，启动了面向亚太区高校博士生、硕士生和优秀本科生的“明日之星”实习生项目。该项目由微软亚洲研究院和国内外高校共同执行，旨在培养高素质的计算机基础研究人才。实习生进入微软亚洲研究院后深入到每个研究小组进行为期三个月或更长时间的实习。截止至2011年9月，已有4000名来自亚太区高校的学生到微软亚洲研究院实习，平均每年有400个实习机会开放给所有的学生。

第一组是技术职位：
互联网搜索与挖掘领域职位
Position: Full-time Intern
Research Area: Web Search and Mining
Work Location: Beijing
Overview
Researchers in the Web Search and Mining Area are turning their ideas into reality in areas such as computer vision, pattern recognition, machine learning. Projects pushing the state-of-the-art forward include multimedia related research.
Required Qualifications:
1.MS/PhD in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science or any related technical field
2.Good reading, written, and oral English;
3.Strong in signal and image processing
4.Solid mathematics (linear algebra, optimization, statistics)
5.Background in machine learning (clustering, learning, classification)
6.Good programming skills or have related project experience;
7.Good reading, written, and oral English
8.Good communication skills and excellent teamwork.
9.Can commit at least 6 months internship, can get your advisor’s approval.

Group Overview
Push forward the state of the art in hardware computing to innovate in software services and to realize novel devices. Research on wearable computing devices and builds integrated rdware/software solutions. Extrapolate hardware trends, study new interaction models, and construct working rototypes. The end goal is to deliver rich and responsive user experiences at work, at home, and on the move.
Roles & Responsibilities
We are looking for proactive fresh young minds to working with us on wearable hardware platforms and embedded software development. Desired candidate should have good hands-on skills with can-do attitude. If you are a good self-starter searching for the rewarding experience then we are looking for you.
Qualifications:
1.Electrical Engineering or Computer Sciences Background
2.Proficient at programming in C
3.Experience in ARM Architecture Software Development
4.Understand the OS Kernel and Device Driver Architecture
5.Low-level device driver programming experience
6.Hands-on experience at various lab equipment
7.Excellent communication skill and able to working at a strong teamwork environment

The foundation for all Microsoft Research’s Research Connections efforts is a deep respect for the “virtuous cycle” that is created when university and industry researchers work together.
Roles & Responsibilities
Microsoft Research Asia Research Connections Group is looking for an intern who will assist Research Connections Members with program coordination and related support.
Required Qualifications:
1.MS/PhD in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science or any related technical field
2.Good reading, written, and oral both in Chinese and English;
3.Good communications, project management and interpersonal skills.
4.Familiar with MSTC operational handbook will be preferred;

Roles & Responsibilities
The Public Relations Group of Microsoft Research Asia is recruiting a full-time intern, who will be responsible for:
1.Content creation for websites, blog and PR events;
2.Support daily marketing and PR efforts of the team;
3.Coordinate the marketing projects and collateral production;
4.Manage official blog and monitor the online comments.
Required Qualifications:
1.A student majored in journalism, communication or language is desired;
2.Familiarity with blogs, micro-blog and other social media channels;
3.Strong communication skill, esp. the editing and writing skills;
4.Good sense of Public Relations work;
5.Self-motivated and high attention to details;
6.Good oral and written English skills;
7.Availability as a full time intern of at least 3 months. A supervisor’s approval will be required.
