Job Responsibilities:
- Develop high quality, cost leading mechanical designs.
- Deliver engineering design (models, drawings, and other engineering data) in a flexible and reusable model product framework.
- Develop and improve design standard work with UTC competitive excellence (ACE) tools.
- Create engineering deliverables as defined in Otis Product Development Process (PDP).
- Conduct Market Feedback Analysis.
- Develop new mechanical designs and perform trade-off studies.
- Perform FEA and other engineering analyses and calculations.
- Develop and apply modeling, analysis, simulation and computation (MASC) to ensure structural design characteristics are favorable for premium ride quality.
- Conduct product design quality and development technical reviews.
- Support qualification tests.
- Track progress, resource utilization, earned value, and latest estimates for delivery.
• Provide engineering support to contract engineering for high-rise car frames.
Basic Qualifications, Work Experience & Skills Requirements:
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills are essential.
- CAD skills are required. ProEngineer experience preferred.
- Excellent ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively with remote team members, including in American & European zones, is essential.
- Experience with structural analysis and FEA is required.
- Experience in product development, from concept to production, is valued.
- Knowledge of elevator components, car frame in particular, is valued.
- Experience in modal analysis, noise and vibration measurement is valued.
