(Associate) Editor, Engineering

-Academic background: Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Theoretical and Applied Mechanics

Location: Springer Shanghai Office(工作地点:上海), Finance Square, 333 Jiujiang Road, Shanghai

 

Reporting Line

Reports to Editorial Director, China

 

Responsibilities

(1)Actively build up author/editor/reviewer network among Chinese scientific community

(2)Keep abreast of the latest development of responsible subject areas, focus on emerging or hot topics as well as interdisciplinary researches.

(3)Plan, acquire and manage Editorial Projects with Chinese authors or editors directly, or in cooperation with Chinese partners. Editorial Projects include journals, books, conference proceedings and electronic database in the responsible areas.

(4)Be responsible for the quality of the Editorial Projects, including the quality of the metadata, academic content, language, layout, etc.

 

Requirements

(1)Ideally PhD degree, in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Theoretical and Applied Mechanics, preferably acquired in a foreign country.

(2)Previous working experience in international science and technology publishing industry helps but not a must.

(3)Loves science and technology publishing and is committed to take editorial and publishing as a lifelong career.

(4)High motivation with a sense of self-discipline and entrepreneurial interests.

(5)Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

(6)First class presentation skills, fluent written and spoken English.

(7)Ready to travel within China.

(8)Strong organizational skills, detail oriented, and capable to handle multiple priorities.

(9)Proven mastery of Office applications including Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook.

(10)Experience of living / working in a foreign country outside China helpful.
