We are looking for an energetic self-starter to assist a top ranked equity research sector team within a global bulge-bracket investment bank. The role will initially be based in Shanghai but upon completion of a 6-12 month intensive on-the-job training program in Shanghai, there may be the opportunity to join the team in the HK office. The nature of the work will include building and updating financial/valuation models, writing research summaries, conducting channel checks and performing data analysis.
Job Description:
- Collecting financial data using on-line and other sources
- Coordinating and maintaining databases
- Creating and maintaining computer spreadsheet models
- Listening to and summarizing investment conference calls
- Miscellaneous equity projects including writing parts of research reports
- Analyzing companies based on their published financial statements and annual reports
- Formatting and performing desktop publishing tasks to produce research documents such as translation, research daily report, sector reports, investment recommendation, IPO reports, yearly outlooks etc.
Requirements:
- Strong academic credentials with top GPA; accounting and finance majors would be viewed positively
- Strong English and Chinese (Mandarin) speaking and writing skills
- Up to 3 years of relevant experience, although we are willing to consider individuals starting their careers
- Demonstrated evidence of commitment, initiative and drive, as well as a passion for equity markets, stocks and companies
- Strong analytical and interpersonal skills, especially in terms of communication
