Intern, Industrial Automation Group

The intern will support our analyst team to collect and analyse market research information from a variety of sources and produce evidence based market research database and insights.  The intern's role will also be to assist the tasks linked to data gathering, marketing of the reports, cold calls, interview notes written and translation, press release production and contact information recording.

Specific job Duties:

Database Update and Maintenance

1. Update contact information in SLX (adding new contacts into the SLX)
2. Maintain Company Directory information for China Machinery Production Market Tracker
3. Collect information for major IA companies in China, including annual report, quarterly report, press release, etc. If possible, establish DB for this type of information.
4. Establish China Power Equipment database. China power equipment market is our new targeting market that seems to have huge potential for development. To have someone start setting up DB for the equipment will be very helpful for future tracking.

 

Syndicated Report

1. Company Profile & Product Matrix production. This could be something in conjunction with Point 2 & Point 3 of "Database Update and Maintenance" sector.
2. Support on China dedicated report production, such as PowerPoint slides production/format adjustment.
3. Secondary information collection, including Government/Association Policies, Project Investment/Bidding Information, Industry Sector Standard/Policies, Distributor List/Profile, etc.
4. Further to point 3, interns would be expected to collect information for latest technology trends/marketing trends, such as white paper of industry 4.0, industrial intranet. Save and sort out them by type, and translate some of them into Chinese if necessary.
5. Interview notes write-ups. Analysts will have the interview record and original write-ups for the interview. Interns will be required to write down the content according to the record, or translate some of the Chinese write-ups to English and upload that to the intranet.

 

Marketing & PR for the China Market

1. Support on newsletter/PR production or translation.
2. Attend our bi-weekly group meeting that focuses on IA market update and trends discussion and take notes on that.
3. IA Portfolio Chinese version update.
4. Support IA Group event organization, production of prospectus, brochure, mail shot, etc.

 

Customer Project

1. Secondary Information Collection, which would be similar to the request in the "Syndicated Report" section, but being more specific on a few products or industries included in the prospectus.

Cold Call support. Mainly to make cold calls with some end users or machine builders to do some quick research on price, user preference, etc.
