PHYTEC Information Technology (Shenzhen) Co. Ltd. seeks an Electrical Engineer to join our new office in Shenzhen as a Junior Embedded Hardware Developer, following initial training at our offices in the Seattle, U.S. or Mainz, Germany. 

This position will be responsible for the design of state-of-the-art Printed Circuit Board Assemblies (PCBAs) for use in a wide spectrum of embedded system applications deployed by PHYTEC customers in China. 

The key functions of this position include definition of product requirements and specifications, schematic capture, board bring-up and validation, test fixture planning and development, and ensuring that the end product is optimized for manufacturability. Primary Duties:

- Specify and develop standard PHYTEC products and custom hardware circuitry

- Schematic capture using Mentor Graphics DxDesigner and related tools

- Oversee PCB layout projects with layout staff

- Manual test and bring-up of prototype hardware

- Develop software for standard functional and electrical test of hardware designs

- Pre-sale and post-sale technical support

- Work as needed with engineering teams in the United States, Germany and India

Education: Bachelor’s degree or above in Electrical Engineering or related field

Needed Skills:

- Ability to quickly learn design tools, including CAD-based schematic capture, as well as I/O features and circuitries for a variety of ARM-based processors

- C/C programming skills, familiarity with Linux and Android operating systems

- Familiarity with debugging and test equipment, tools and methodologies

- Capability to work both independently and within a small team environment

- Flexibility, attention to detail, and the ability to multi-task in a high energy work environment

- Strong technical writing and verbal skills in the English language

Desired Skills:

- Board-level design experience around 32-bit microprocessors, in particular ARM Cortex-A family devices

- Design experience with interface circuitry such as Ethernet, USB, serial, power supply, LCD and wireless

- Experience with DFM (Design for Manufacturability), DFT (Design for Test) and SMT production processes
